LUIS Technology Strengthens Partnerships and Gains Valuable Market Insights

From October 5 to 8, 2026, the LUIS Technology team traveled across Canada to meet with customers, partners, and industry experts to discuss current developments in vehicle and machine safety.

With its strong presence in transportation, mining, construction, agriculture, and public transit, Canada represents an important market for advanced safety and driver assistance technologies. Throughout the trip, discussions focused on the future of AI-powered vision systems, advanced driver assistance solutions, and intelligent safety technologies designed to protect people while supporting operational efficiency.

Canada is one of the world's most resource- and industry-intensive economies. Sectors such as mining, agriculture, heavy industry, and public transportation play a significant role in the country and place particularly high demands on workplace safety. According to the Association of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada (AWCBC), a total of 1,042 fatalities resulting from workplace accidents or occupational diseases were recorded in 2024. Accidents involving vehicles and mobile machinery continue to be among the most common causes of serious workplace incidents across many industrial sectors.

Through direct discussions with operators, fleet managers, customers, and industry professionals, the LUIS team gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by commercial vehicle, industrial vehicle, and mobile machinery operators across North America. One key takeaway was the growing demand for technologies that improve safety while maintaining productivity in daily operations.

"Whether in intralogistics, public bus transportation, or on construction sites, operators everywhere face the same challenge: balancing safety and productivity. AI will play a key role in addressing this challenge. Our conversations in Canada demonstrated how strong the demand already is for intelligent, practical safety solutions that deliver real value in everyday operations."

A special thank you goes to our partners SafeWerk and X TRONICS, whose local expertise, support, and hospitality contributed significantly to the success of the trip. Visiting customers and industry stakeholders on site once again highlighted the importance of strong partnerships when introducing innovative safety technologies to new markets.

Many of the challenges discussed during the trip align closely with the most common risk scenarios in North American industrial environments. These include turning maneuvers, reversing operations, pedestrian detection in close proximity to vehicles, and collisions between vehicles and machinery. As a result, industries such as mining, logistics, construction, municipal services, and public transportation are increasingly investing in intelligent driver assistance and warning systems that help operators make safer decisions in real time.

The relevance of these technologies is also reflected in Canadian road safety statistics. According to Transport Canada, 1,964 road fatalities, 9,261 serious injuries, and 118,838 total injuries were recorded nationwide in 2023. For a country with a population of approximately 40 million people, these figures underline the continued importance of measures that improve road safety and help prevent serious accidents.

The trip provided valuable insights into market requirements, emerging opportunities, and future collaboration potential. These learnings will contribute to the continued development of intelligent safety solutions for commercial vehicles, mobile machinery, and industrial applications.

The conversations throughout Canada reinforced a clear message: while operational environments may differ from region to region, the demand for smarter safety technologies is universal. For LUIS Technology, this further validates our commitment to developing AI-based systems that address real-world challenges faced by drivers, operators, and fleet managers every day.

Moving Safety. Worldwide.
